My Life Would Be So Much Better With A Serger!

I don't think I can count the number of hours I have spent clothes shopping for Her Nibs. This week, I even did an advance run at two stores and placed about two dozen items on hold so that I could bring her back later just to try everything on. (That comes to 6 hours for just this week!) We ended up buying one outfit, one skirt and two pairs of pajamas––but no dresses, which is why we were going shopping in the first place.

Her Nibs does not fit the typical body type for a 6 year old girl, being a little short in proportion to her weight. Anything at the right width is pretty much guaranteed to be too long, whether in the leg or the neckline. Every shirt seems to become a 'tunic'. I've decided the only answer is to start sewing her clothes.

Thankfully, that's an option she greets with enthusiasm! In her shoes, I probably would have balked for store-bought. I have a simple sewing machine that will get me started, but I want all of her clothes to help her look her best! Confidence is hard enough for any girl to hold onto without clothes getting us down. I know the things I make for her will look infinitely better if I had a serger!
